I just saw this proposal on swift evolution and it got me thinking. I’m really glad Apple is making an effort to have a proper cross platform standard library for Swift that includes Foundation. Without Foundation, Swift is borderline useless today. It has already resulted in several cross platform libraries inventing their own version of Foundation. If this keeps happening, we are sure to end up where JavaScript is today.

I’ve been carrying two iPhones for the last several weeks as I try out a few cell service providers (my current on, Airtel, has totally gone to shit in the last month, and they don’t seem to care).

The recent debate started by Apple’s CEO Tim Cook about the court order the FBI obtained against Apple to break into an iPhone is something that I care deeply about.

Let me start by saying that I would be very happy if I never had to walk into a physical store to buy something I need ever again. Yep, I’m one of those guys.

Maybe it’s just me, but lately I’ve been hearing a lot of people push python 3 pretty heavily. Some people are surprised at how many people continue to use python 2. Here’s an example.

I watched my first Bengaluru FC home game vs Shillong Lajong FC last night at Kanteerava Stadium. It was a fantastic experience. The home team won 2-0, despite being down to ten men in the first half (undeserved red card, IMO). The quality of football was great - far better than I expected. Here’s a quick summary of the game:

Last night, Rosco came to my room tried to get my attention, failed and surprisingly just went to sleep next to my bed. He never does this when there’s someone else in the house. Even more surprisingly, when I tried to photograph him he didn’t move around and make it hard to photograph him (he usually does).
